SEO: Directory Submissions and Forums - By Liz Jackson
Another week has gone by, and I’m still working on getting as many quality one-way links as possible to Business Logos. This past week, I continued searching for new directories. I submitted our URL to as many new directories as possible, and also checked back on some of the earlier directories to see the status of my previous submissions. It really surprised me how many new directories I found this week! The list seems never ending! By the time I get to the end of one list, I’ve already found links to new lists of directories I’ve never heard of. We have more than doubled the number of free directories where Business Logos has been submitted. (In the coming weeks, we will select some paid directories to submit to as well.) Some of the free directories post the URL quickly, while some of the other directories require a wait of at least a few weeks or even months. A few of the sites have already activated the link to Business Logos, but most of the others are still pending. However, I’m excited to see more links activated in the coming weeks and to see the positive effect on the Business Logos search engine rankings.
Last week I also began working on a couple of new things. In addition to directory submissions, forums are a great way to get additional one-way links to your site. I looked primarily for forums relating to logo design, graphic design, SEO, and computers. One key to keep in mind is that it is important to have your URL on a page where significant keywords are nearby. In my case, priority keywords include logos, logo design, and graphics. This week I will continue to look for relevant forums and post on threads so that we can have even more one-way links to Business Logos!
I’ll post again next Monday and give another update on our progress!
